Rhizobium

Rhizobium is a beneficial bacterium that forms a symbiotic relationship with leguminous plants (like soybean, pulses, groundnut, etc.). It enters the root system and forms nodules, where it converts atmospheric nitrogen into ammonia, a usable form for plants.

  • Infects legume roots and forms nodules.
  • Fixes atmospheric nitrogen inside nodules.
  • Supplies nitrogen to the plant for better growth.
